this painting is an illustration of what i think an ‘abnormal metamorphosis’ would look like. i’ve been reflecting on the experience of growing from adolescence into full blown adulthood. and what i realized is that there are so many changes that you as a person will make. things you could never prepare for, but they can also be for your betterment.
change can be so steady and slow. but it can also be abrupt. one day in the mirror you'll notice you’re a little taller than you were a few months ago. but then you'll turn around and to your bewilderment, you’re growing thorns along your back. sure, all your cute tops have been rendered useless but people will certainly think twice about stabbing you in the back.
